National Geographic’s acclaimed King Tut exhibit is now open at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT! Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience transports the magic of Ancient Egypt right before your very eyes. With nine visual galleries to explore, this multi-sensory experience tells you the story of King Tutankhamun in a way like you’ve never seen before. And thanks to NatGeo, we got a sneak peek before the Grand Opening:

100 years since the discovery of King Tut’s tomb (1922), learn about the legendary boy king, including his life, his death, and beyond… Each gallery looks into a different aspect of King Tut such as his family, his favorite belongings, and even his burial chamber.

In place of artifacts, this exhibition combines the power of cinematic storytelling & soaring imagery through the spectacular use of screens & projectors. There were, however, incredible replicas on display like the Golden Throne of Tutankhamun (above, for photo ops) and a reproduction of the Tutankhamun mummy:

Suitable for all ages, Beyond King Tut takes about one hour to tour and is an exciting way to take in the pharaoh’s rich 3,000+ year history. On top of all of the informational panels to read, there are multiple video presentations for visual learners. Plus a giant playable version of the most popular ancient Egyptian board game, Senet:

Lastly, don’t forget to try the “Secrets of Tutankhamun” Virtual Reality station brought to you by Positron: pods that rumble, twist, and turn as you hear & see King Tut’s story first-hand!

The immersive experience that’s taken cities like Los Angeles & New York by storm is now in Hartford, CT from August 11 to October 15, 2023! Visit the official Beyond King Tut site for tickets and other locations.
