Historic Smithville is a quaint village in Galloway, NJ that takes you back to a simpler time… a time where the iconic Smithville Inn was established over 235 years ago, followed by 50+ local & artisan businesses & crafters, tourist attractions, and beautiful scenery. And every year during the month of December, Smithville is transformed into a Winter Wonderland filled with decorations, treats, gifts, train rides, and a holiday tree light show!

December in Smithville takes the village’s charm & family fun to a whole new level: there’s a holiday tree light show (above) that’s set to your favorite holiday tunes everyday from 5:30-8:30pm, a Magic Talking Tree that interacts with you (on select dates), a holiday train ride, and even s’mores by the fire on the village Greene:

All the while, shop the dozens of whimsical stores all around that are selling items such as candles, kitchenware, wine, cheese, toys, apparel, candy, lawn ornaments, entertainment collectibles, and other gifts. And in between you’ll come across old-timey arcade huts, a carousel, and even vendors selling flashing lights that’ll put you in a jolly mood!

For light bites & meals, you can expect to find some food trucks like DeCadence & Romanelli’s Garden Cafe parked around the village, on top of the existing Smithville eateries… some even serving up holiday treats such as hot chocolate & hot apple cider, that are sure to warm you up while you walk around & enjoy the views.

If you’ve been looking for a simpler, quieter holiday spot, Historic Smithville is the place for you! There’s plenty of free parking on either side of the village and hours of things to do while you’re in town. Be sure to check their winter schedule before visiting and happy holidays!
