Japan’s leading publishing company, Kodansha, opened its doors today to their first ever immersive pop-up experience: Kodansha House. This one of a kind pop-up will run until October 26, 2024 and is located at 45 Grand Street in NYC’s SoHo. Step into the pages of your favorite manga (literally) as you enter:

Kodansha House showcases 7 of the publisher’s most influential titles throughout their 100+ year history. Take a closer look at the artistry & storytelling behind Attack On Titan, The Flowers of Evil, Akira, Initial D, Witch Hat Atelier, Blue Period, and Vinland Saga… with even limited (lottery-based) meet & greets with some of the creators!

In addition to each manga’s dedicated section, Kodansha House also features fan activations that place you right in the heart of the action. Gear up and have your very own Akira bike-slide moment:

Strategically positioned cameras will capture multiple video angles that will superimpose you into the anime’s iconic scene! Or put on a Titan hoodie for “Titan’s Fury” and go to town on a handmade Attack On Titan diorama:

Plus other activities at Kodansha House: a gacha machine, gameplay of Initial D Arcade Stage 8 Infinity, a mini Books Kinokuniya, a cafe by Grace Street, and a manga library loaded with all of Kodansha’s best selling series (below):

Kodansha House is more than an exhibit! With all of its meetups, Q&A’s & signings, book clubs, and movie nights, it truly is “Where Manga Meets”. Best of all… it’s free! Immerse yourself in this special experience Wednesdays to Sundays, 12pm-9pm, until October 26, 2024.
