This summer, check out a super comic art exhibition at the CCM Gallery inside County College Of Morris’ Sherman H. Masten Learning Resource Center in Randolph, NJ. Presented by Teen Arts NJ, Morris Arts, and CCM, “Art And Consumerism” is a collection of over 75 pieces curated by Anthony Marques, President of The Joe Kubert School Of Cartoon And Graphic Art. It is currently on view through August 21, 2025 and features Superman, Batman, and Tarzan from DC Comics, Spider-Man & Wolverine from Marvel Comics, John Wick & Green Hornet from Dynamite, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from IDW, and other iconic characters.

Inside this free-to-attend exhibit you’ll get a closer look at original art, pages, published covers, and other illustrations from 10 different artists including curator Anthony Marques’ very own Superman pencils & inks, pages from “Batman: The Audio Adventures”, Green Lantern #27 cover art, and his work on “Red Sonja”, “Space Ghost”, “G.I. Joe vs. Six Million Dollar Man”, and other titles. Other artists included in this exhibition are Lee Weeks, Tom Mandrake, Emma Kubert, VT Hamlin, Giovanni Valletta, and Charles P. Wilson.

But a major highlight of “Art And Consumerism” has got to be the art from the legendary Joe Kubert (above), who founded the Kubert School in 1976. On display are covers for Sgt. Rock, Tarzan, and Star Spangled War, as well as promotional images for Tor and various art demos from his early career. Plus art from his sons: Adam Kubert’s Wolverine #70 Page 15, Spider-Man print, and Wolverine & Spider-Man banners… and Andy Kubert’s Joker’s Asylum cover, DC Trinity prints, and Dark Knight III & Countdown To Final Crisis banners… Absolutely a thrill to see in person!

All the while flip through actual sample comic books, explore blueprints of the original Kubert School building at Baker Estate, admire Robin & Wonder Woman costumes by Caitlin Teixeira, and feast your eyes on the DC Comics NYC wall mural (above) signed by over 50 artists including Jim Lee, Frank Miller, Geoff Johns, Hy Eisman, Andy Kubert, Will Dennis, Tom Mandrake, and Alex Sinclair. But be sure to check out this limited-time exhibition before it’s up, up, and away! CCM Gallery is open Monday to Friday from 9am-6pm.
