Mission: Impossible – Story And Spectacle, the latest changing exhibition at the Museum Of The Moving Image in Astoria, NY, is an in-depth look at the Tom Cruise film franchise. From Mission: Impossible (1996) all the way to Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (2025), your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to experience iconic moments from each movie through video clips, storyboards, and various screen-used costumes & props:

On view through December 14, 2025, this incredible exhibition highlights Tom Cruise’s most daring stunts (above), from Ethan Hunt’s original Langley heist to his jaw-dropping motorcycle jump off Norway’s Helsetkopen mountain… all accompanied by the corresponding movie scene. And with plenty of placards with factoids to thrill every Mission: Impossible fan, too!

Even the wardrobe helps tell the story of this action-packed franchise: disguises, uniforms, tactical outfits… you name it and the exhibition has it! On display are 20+ authentic costumes worn in the films by various cast members throughout the years, along with 50+ props including the NOC List (M:I), Self-Destructing Sunglasses (M:I-2), Rabbit’s Foot (M:I-3), Suction Gloves (M:I-4), Underwater Hard Drives (M:I-5), Masks & Scanner (M:I-6), The Entity (M:I-7), and even a selection of props from the latest installment, M:I-8!

Included with general admission to the museum, Mission: Impossible – Story And Spectacle also features various behind-the-scenes content, storyboards, scripts, and even the musical score of the original theme song composed by Lalo Schifrin. So hurry in to the Museum Of The Moving Image before this exhibition self-destructs!
