An all-new East Japanese Restaurant is now open in New York City. Located in Hell’s Kitchen, this reimagined location elevates the decades-long traditions of East to a whole new level with a clean & modern interior, intimate seating options, a private dining room, and a 10-seat sushi counter serving Japanese hand rolls and noodles as multi-course tasting menus. Owned and operated by Shigeru Nishida and Maou Suzuki, of the Soba Azuma & Ramen Azuma restaurants in NYC and New Jersey, everything at East is prepared authentically and meticulously with the freshest ingredients and beautiful presentation.

Located at 314 W 53rd Street, East brings an affordable twist to upscale sushi dining. Just minutes from Times Square, it’s sure to become a go-to spot for both aficionados and midtown passerby. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or planning a small family gathering, there are seating & dining options for every type of visit.

Each prix fixe menu pays tribute to East locations of years past: the “53 Street” 7-course meal, the “38 Street” 4-course meal, the “66 Street” 8-course meal (below), the “44 Street” 6-course vegan meal, and an “80 Street” menu coming soon. Guests can also enjoy an array of à la carte items, including additional Handrolls, Open Handrolls, and Hot or Cold Soba Noodles.

All of the tasting sets are specially curated to showcase a diverse culinary experience. From toro (bluefin tuna) and Hokkaido scallop to 100% Towari buckwheat soba, and all kinds of roe & garnishes, sushi lovers won’t be disappointed. So step inside East, it’s ready to welcome you!
