Dive into the Spider-Verse with a movie-going experience like no other! Dolby Cinema hosted an early screening for the premiere of Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse in New York City on May 31, 2023, complete with photo ops, Spider-Man themed donuts, and complimentary concessions.
Held at the Dolby Cinema in AMC Lincoln Square, this NYC location boasts the latest in Dolby technology. From the sharp picture & wide range of color via Dolby Vision to the incredible object-based sounds of Dolby Atmos, you’ll find yourself completely immersed in breathtaking detail. Even before entering the screening, we were greeted by a green screen photo booth to digitally land ourselves in the Spider-Verse, thanks to TapSnap, as well as a wall of “webbed” donut treats by Doughology.
Getting to experience this highly anticipated Spider-sequel was extra special in a Dolby Cinema. Not only is every seat a perfect seat for audio/visuals but they’re quite literally perfected with customizable reclining settings! And it only got better with the popcorn & beverage selection:
The movie itself was once again full of action, humor, and lots of heart. Sony Pictures Animation outdid themselves, setting the bar even higher for comic book storytelling with the sequel’s visually stunning & vividly colorful graphics. The acting & voice acting has even leveled up since the 2018 debut film and, with a couple of jaw-dropping moments, you’ll be leaving the theater at a loss for words… Luckily, at this Dolby Cinema, no words are needed when encountering their iconic laser-projected video wall entryway:
But it’s definitely a stacked cast! Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, and Jake Johnson return as their characters Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and Peter B. Parker, respectively. Joining them are Jason Schwartzman as The Spot, Issa Rae as Jessica Drew, Karan Soni as Pavitr Prabhakar, Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, and Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099. And much to our surprise, there were no mid or post-credit scenes! We’ll just have to wait until the third film, Beyond The Spider-Verse, to get a whiff of what’s next!
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is rated PG with a running time of 140 minutes and hits theaters on June 2, 2023.
