Food & Fashion is a special exhibitions gallery at The Museum at FIT that is running from September 13 to November 26, 2023. From Campbell soup patterns to White Castle sneakers, it’s the perfect amalgamation of food and fashion!
There are over 100 items on display, including footwear, handbags, outerwear, and photographs. Not only will you see familiar food names like Coca Cola, Baby Ruth, and Takis, but also collaborations with iconic designers like Givenchy, Christian Dior, Phillip Lim, Dolce & Gabbana, and Louis Vuitton.
This collection just goes to show how much influence food has had on fashion throughout the years… especially now, with today’s “camera eats first” culture! You’ll see blinged out desserts, a baguette headpiece, and even more fascinating food fashion like Shoe Bakery’s cake wedges & flats. But you’ll also get a close up look at some more traditional ensembles one would wear to formal events, like cocktail dresses and tuxedos.
