65th Annual Model Railroad Show

The Garden State Model Railway Club in North Haledon, NJ celebrated the 65th anniversary of the Model Railroad Show on January 6-7, 2024. The historic club opened its doors from 12pm-5pm so that visitors could enjoy the hard work & collaborative efforts put into their multi-region layouts. The first, located at 575 High Mountain Road, is the main layout and featured areas like Jersey City, Middletown, Perry, Soggy Bottom, Albatross Yard, and Norristown with HO scale freight & passenger trains, elevated steps to get a better view, and even an appearance by Thomas the Tank Engine!

The second layout, located at 569 High Mountain Road, is a work in progress but was open to the public. Here you could see the beginning phases of the whole process, where GSMRC members bring their different skills to the table, whether it’s laying tracks or fixing train cars. This was also where the club was selling spare parts & trains from brands like Bachmann, Athearn, Walthers, Lionel, Tyco, and other companies.

The 65th Annual Model Railroad Show also offered a play area for kids, refreshments, and video tour & layout DVDs. It’s the perfect outlet for fans of railroading! If you are interested in joining the Garden State Model Railway Club, find out more about membership on their website.
