The first annual Westchester Pizza Festival kicked off on September 14, 2024 in Tuckahoe, NY, complete with live demonstrations, Italian street food & market, live music & entertainment, and an epic cash-prize pizza cook-off featuring dozens of competitors & special guest judges! Presented by the Pizza Cook-Off Association, Fortissimo Pizza Ovens, and Westchester Italian Cultural Center, this one-of-a-kind outdoor event ran from 9am-6pm and was completely free to attend (with any proceeds collected benefiting the Pie It Forward program)!
Held right in the heart of Tuckahoe‘s Depot Square, local vendors & businesses were serving up eats & treats like fresh mozzarella from Dolce Vita, Italian-style finger food from Terra’s Tosca, cake pops from Patty Pops, and even burgers & hot dogs from L&J Events… Not to mention Sotto il Sole with their amazing selection of artisanal cookies, gelato, fresh pasta, bruschetta, and more!
Meanwhile, at the pizza stations (above), the pressure was on! The competitors were firing up their ovens and prepping their best pies for a chance to win up to $1000! While it was possible to score a sample from the cooks, it was extremely limited so you might be better off getting fresh pies & slices from Pugsley Pizza & food truck Rome’n Focaccia I who were selling their own delicious pizza creations. Either way, you’re bound to get a slice of the action!
There were even opportunities to enter a few raffles (including one to win a backyard pizza oven), participate in a free wine tasting with San Pietro Wines, and watch live pizza, pasta, and mozzarella making demos. What a way to launch Westchester’s very own pizza party. And congratulations to all of this year’s winners!
