Phillipsburg High School’s Comic Club, In Her Element, and Club Unify hosted the 10th annual Phillipsburg Comic-Con on May 10, 2025 in the school cafeteria. It was a celebration of all things comics including nearly 100 tables of vendors, artists, writers, editors, and other creators. This year’s guest list included names like Walt & Louise Simonson, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, Joe Kelly, Scott Hanna, Keith Williams, Lee Weeks, and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels – who performed for a separately ticketed concert after the Comic-Con.
This special 10th Phillipsburg Comic-Con was still only $5 at the door, which once again not only admits you to the 10am-4pm event but also lets you claim a hot dog or pizza lunch, sign up for door prizes, pick up some Free Comic Book Day 2025 issues, and take home one variant comic courtesy of Boom! Studios. Not only that but plenty of kids’ activities and panels to attend, too! Also returning this year were the Silent Auction, as well as an art print by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez when you donate towards the annual Food Drive!
On top of the fantastic selection of raw comic books thanks to vendors like JAF Comics are graded comics from JJL Collectibles (above) who was on-site with their blue & yellow label CGC slabs and additionally offered CGC Signature Series services in case you want to get your comic signatures witnessed & graded! That means you can get your books encapsulated after being signed & sketched by artists like Ben Harvey, George Vega, Criss Madd, Mariano Benitez Chapo, Fabrice Sapolsky, and Bob Sharen.
