TERRIFICON celebrated its massive 10th anniversary at Mohegan Sun by doing what it does best: from August 8-10, hundreds of comic book creators, artists, writers, special guests, and exhibitors of all kinds of terrific things took over the Earth Expo & Convention Center, bringing the best that Connecticut’s #1 comic con has to offer! Comic & pop culture fans enjoyed autograph & photo op sessions, panels & gaming, a cosplay contest, and appearances from actors like Ke Huy Quan, Carl Lumbly, and Billy Zane, as well as comic book legends John Romita Jr., Marc Silvestri, Kevin Eastman, and many more.
Where else can you meet such an eclectic mix of icons? From voices of your childhood cartoons to the artists behind your favorite comics, TERRIFICON always knows who to invite. This year’s lineup featured the cast of Superman & Lois (Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Alex Garfin, Michael Cudlitz), ET’s Henry Thomas, Justice League voice actors, live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles actors, and John Wesley Shipp, who celebrated 35 years of his Flash television show and 10 years of the CW’s Flash:
Not to mention nearly 200 artists, writers, and other comic book creators like Walt & Louise Simonson, Chris Claremont, Jonathan Hickman, Skottie Young, Humberto Ramos, and a rare appearance by Coffin Comics founder & Lady Death creator Brian Pulido (below). Not only could you get your stack of books signed (and graded by CGC who was on-site all weekend), but we can’t forget about the incredible opportunities to obtain original art throughout TERRIFICON’s exceptional Artist Alley. Whether you’re tracking down inked pages directly from an industry legend or commissioning a local artist for a brand-new piece to be completed during the show, the talent gathered under one roof is unfathomable.
In a pinch for time? Some artists like Chris Campana & George Vega even have sketch covers that are ready to go! On a budget? Many others will even work with you to see what you can take home that very day! Forgot to bring a specific issue to get signed? TERRIFICON is your one-stop shop that’s got it all! On top of the plethora of vintage & modern comics, rare variant covers, full sets, graded keys, bargain books, and every other comic book you can think of… you’ll be able to find even more collectibles such as trading cards, action figures, Funko Pops, prop replicas, geeky apparel… you name it!
Even after 10 years at Mohegan Sun, TERRIFICON broke attendance records, brought in never-before-seen guests, and continues to up the ante as Connecticut’s #1 comic con!
