February 21 marked the 5th Topps Rip Night, as trading card company Topps & parent company Fanatics took their one-day celebration of the hobby to the next level. What started as a nationwide promotion just a few years ago with 300 shops has now grown into a global sensation, with over 750 shops participating! Collectors young & old, new & veteran, joined the festivities at their participating local hobby shops for deals on Topps products, giveaways, trade nights, and even celebrity & athlete appearances at select locations.

While Topps may be best known for their exclusive MLB license, the company produces so much more: Formula 1, WWE, UFC, Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, Garbage Pail Kids, Labubu, and their recent return to licensed NBA cards in 2025! You never know what exciting Topps products you’ll encounter in the wild… and the same goes for the special Rip Night appearances all around the world. Many of these appearances were announced ahead of Rip Night including Mike Trout, Cal Ripken Jr., Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Emma Roberts, and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin, while other shops delivered last-minute surprise visits like Monmouth Cards‘ 9 locations with two-time Super Bowl champion Jonathan Casillas at their Midland Park, NJ store (above), MLB All-Star Domonic Brown, and Ken Goldin.

ToyWiz in Nanuet, NY (above) also joined in the fun, offering a nice variety of Topps products and, of course, the sought-after exclusive Rip Night silver packs which, per tradition, were available while supplies lasted at all 750+ shops, along with limited promo cards and Topps Rip Night apparel. Some locations even upped the ante with additional giveaways, raffles, bounties, gifts with purchase, and other swag! What a way to celebrate the hobby alongside fellow passionate collectors in the community. Be sure to use the official Topps store locator to find a hobby shop near you for the next Topps Rip Night!
