This year, Macy’s is celebrating its 100th Thanksgiving Day Parade with a special pop-up in New York City. For a limited time, visit the mezzanine of Macy’s Herald Square to see costumes & relics from past parades, including newspaper advertisements, promotional posters, and commemorative memorabilia dating as far back as the 1940s. And with a timeline of notable dates (below) beginning in 1924, you’re sure to get a whiff of nostalgia as classic parade floats pass by on the jumbo screen like the Macy’s Star, Spider-Man, Buzz Lightyear, Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty, Blue Hippopotamus, Snoopy, and Billie Brightpaw, who’s making her 2026 parade debut!

Many of these characters have their own dedicated parade sections, complete with “100th” branded merchandise for sale, and even mini versions of their floats on display.
