It’s the Year of the Tiger but the Rams won the Super Bowl! Congrats to the Los Angeles Rams for their win against the Cincinnati Bengals tonight! With a final score of 23-20, this was a Super Bowl full of twists & turns.
Everybody was glued to their screens for an amazing game, an unforgettable Pepsi Halftime show featuring Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige, and of course the best commercials of the year! NBC announced that this year a 30-second spot will run about $7 million which is up from last year.
And as always, we’re going to take a look at my favorite 5 ads from this year’s Super Bowl, in order of appearance on air! Did your favorites make the list?
1. BMW’s Zeus & Hera
I mean, it’s Arnold Schwarzenegger and Salma Hayek in a campy electric car commercial… and a baby Pegasus!
2. Anna Kendrick & Barbie (Rocket Mortgage)
Rocket Mortgage nails it again with this hilarious twist on Barbie characters in combination with Anna Kendrick! Totally made this commercial one of my favorites this year.
3. Toyota: The Joneses
If your Super Bowl party was anything like mine, you were shouting out all the different Joneses in this one: from Tommy Lee Jones to Tom Jones’ “It’s Not Unusual” playing in the background!
4. Verizon’s Cable Guy
My jaw literally dropped seeing Jim Carrey reprise his role as The Cable Guy. The callbacks were great, down to the Medieval Times-esque ad playing on the TV!
5. Seth Rogen & Paul Rudd (Lays)
This one really channeled a classic “Frat Pack” vibe! Rogen & Rudd delivered a comedic duo chemistry that was hard to top!
