The Cardboard Carnival Card Show (2023 Debut)

The Cardboard Carnival Card Show debuted on April 29, 2023 inside The Arena in Boonton, NJ. Organized by the individuals behind The Breaking Factory, Card Concierge, Boosh Bombs, Guts Cards, and Behar Trading Cards, this new one-day show featured 70 tables of trading cards, supplies, signed sports memorabilia, and other collectibles.

The show ran from 9am-3pm and the $5 admission got you access to one of the best assortments of local vendors. Among them were fan favorites like A&A Treasures, Heavy Hitter Breaks, Scoutmens Cards, JWong Boutique, Hurley Hobbies, Kid Motors, and so many others specializing in raw & graded cards, sealed packs & boxes, autograph & sketch cards, exclusive & foreign cards, and more!

While most of the cards for sale were mostly sports and Pokemon, a few vendors did have Magic The Gathering and non-sports cards as well. Not to mention, a decent selection of action figures, comic books, and Funko Pops, too! Plus there were timed raffle ticket prizes and plenty of deals like BOGOs, 50 cent bins, and even bargain slabs. (With slabs from all the popular grading companies: PSA, CGC, BGS, SGC, AGS… you name it!)

Cardboard Carnival was especially a great experience for young collectors. On top of the mystery pack Plinko/Wheel Spin with every admission (above), there were free cards for kids and designated trade areas (below), which encouraged them to enjoy & learn more about the hobby with other like-minded enthusiasts.

From rookie sports cards to base set Japanese Pokemon, Cardboard Carnival‘s got you covered! There was such a huge variety available at this first event and the organizers are hoping to make the successive shows even bigger & better with gatherings happening on a quarterly basis. Be sure to stay tuned on their page for announcements on their next show!
