The Force was strong with Fan Expo Philadelphia this year! Back at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from May 3-5, it collided with Star Wars Day (May the 4th be with you!) which made for an epic celebration with special Star Wars guests like live action actors Hayden Christensen, Rosario Dawson, Alan Tudyk, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Eman Esfandi, and Emily Swallow… as well as voice actors Ashley Eckstein, Matt Lanter, James Arnold Taylor, Dee Bradley Baker, Cameron Monaghan, and countless other stars from television, film, comics, and video games.
As the third Fan Expo Philly, it just keeps getting bigger & better! There were more comic book vendors than ever before, offering amazing deals on back issues, keys, full sets, signed comics, and already graded books. This year, both CGC (via Captured Collectibles) and CBCS were on-site to provide grading & witnessing services if you wanted to get any comic books signed or sketched on by legendary creators such as Andy Kubert, Jason Fabok, Peter Tomasi, Ryan Ottley, Frank Cho, Keith Williams, and Scott Hanna… just to name a few!
There are also always plenty of attractions and programming at Fan Expo Philly! We’re talking about brand activations from Paramount Pictures & Disney+, Itasha cars, a tattoo alley, maid cafes, free-play video games & cabinets, and panels like Q&As, presentations, sketch battles, and dance parties. Plus all of the exciting Star Wars Day festivities including cosplay meetups, lightsaber training, and an after-hours galactic reunion of Anakin & Ahsoka featuring Hayden Christensen & Rosario Dawson:
Not to mention the many other names appearing all weekend for meet & greets, autographs, and photo ops like Chevy Chase, Marisa Tomei, Adam Savage, Danny Trejo, Charles Martinet, and The Office stars Rainn Wilson, Creed Bratton, Kate Flannery, and Oscar Nunez. Fans were able to easily map out their convention itinerary with the Fan Expo mobile app to figure out panel & photo op scheduling, locations, and lists of guests, leaving them plenty of time to enjoy the Exhibition Floor with over 100 vendors and 300 artists.
You’ll come across all kinds of collectibles from every franchise & fandom! Feast your eyes on art prints, apparel, figures & statues, Funko Pops, trading cards, cosplay accessories, stickers & pins, prop replicas, LEGO minifigures, 3D printing & woodwork… the list goes on and on. All the while you can kick back & relax in a Community Zone, Quiet Room, or the VIP/Ultimate Lounges if you upgraded your badge!
