The second annual Contropolis New Jersey returned to the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, NJ on July 13 & 14. With 60 special guests and over 200 artist & vendor tables, it was even bigger & better than last year’s inaugural event!

Fans from all over the region traveled to meet their favorite TV & movie stars like Chris Sarandon (The Nightmare Before Christmas), Alexis Tipton (My Hero Academia), Kimiko Glenn (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), Michaela Jill Murphy (Avatar: The Last Airbender), and mini cast reunions of Police Academy, Rick & Morty, and Starship Troopers.

With autograph & photo opportunities powered by Epic Photo Ops, you have the easy option of pre-purchasing tickets to meet one of the guests at the convention… some of whom rarely make public appearances! Shannon McRandle, known for portraying Mara Jade Skywalker in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, was signing unique memorabilia all weekend long. So whether you bring your own items to get signed or want to snap a selfie, Contropolis is the place to be!

Plus all of the things that make a con a con: we’re talking about some of the best exhibitors around specializing in collectibles and art. If you’re looking for statues & figurines, LEGO, Funko Pops, plushies, helmets & prop replicas, vintage toys, Blu-rays, Gundam, jewelry & apparel, lightsabers, Asian snacks, or the latest Marvel, DC, or McFarlane figures… look no further!

Not to mention even more tabletop accessories & trading cards for Contropolis NJ’s second year from sellers like Alternate Universes, AwesomeCCG.com, Pokemon TCG Unleashed, and Fast Eddies selling cards including Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, Lorcana, and Dragon Ball. And, of course, plenty of comic books for sale from known vendors such as Comic Tips, Sword Of Truth, Undisputed Comics King, and Next Generation Cards & Comics. Feast your eyes on dollar books, graded comics, full sets, rare issues, and everything in between:

This year’s Contropolis also featured an exceptional Artist Alley with comic industry names like Mike DeCarlo, Rudy Nebres, Bob Camp, Bill Anderson, Jeremy Clark, and Martin Zavala (below). Amazing prints, etched art, stitched canvases, 3D printed statuettes, and Original Art like comic covers, pages, and sketch commissions. (And if you get anything signed, JSA and CGC’s Captured Collectibles have you covered with all kinds of certification options!)

All the while there are Q&A panels to attend, cosplay meetups, raffles, and immersive experiences by professional cosplayers for G.I. Joe, Star Wars, and Ghostbusters… as well as Feature Presentation’s yearly display:

Contropolis New Jersey is just getting started and you won’t want to miss year 3. Be sure to stay tuned for official announcements on their site. And in the meantime, check out our photo album and recap video below!
