Tasting Room At The Pint Shop NYC (Museum Of Ice Cream 2018)

The Museum Of Ice Cream is back in NYC this summer with an all new Instagram “playground” – TASTING ROOM x The Pint Shop!

At The Pint Shop’s Tasting Room, you will be immersed into a hyper-sensory interactive classroom for your tastebuds. Our tasting experience is an exploration into the distinct flavors and ingredients that make up our debut ice cream line.

Tastings run for $33 per person (including a free pint) and reservations must be made in advance because these limited summer dates are almost sold out!

Aside from TASTING ROOM, The Pint Shop itself is an experience as well! Brought to you by Target, take photos for the gram, buy a pint of ice cream, and shop around the interactive grocery with exclusive merchandise to go along with each of the 7 exclusive Museum Of Ice Cream flavors: Vanillionaire, Cherrylicious, Churro Churro, Chocolate Crush, Piñata, Sprinkle Pool, and Nana Banana.

And much like its previous installment, MOIC brought some fantastic ice cream themed photo opportunities in the shape of pint containers! Take a dip in a mini maraschino cherry pool, swing above a sea of sprinkles, or get tangled in a forest of bananas!

But the exclusive attraction this summer is the special TASTING ROOM upstairs which combines a little bit of science with a little bit of fun! Grab a lab coat, give yourself a sweet name, and get ready to put your tastebuds to the test:

Our instructor explained the whole process and even introduced us to their real vanilla tree, Milli Vanilli! Beginning with a waft test, we got to see what flavors are used to make vanilla ice cream – each beaker over the giant case of sprinkles (over 10 large bags poured in) contains a different taste note. Does your nose have what it takes to figure it out?

Then head on over to the lab where special TASTE stations are set up. This is where you’ll be experimenting with your favorite vanilla ice cream flavors! Using vanilla from Madagascar & Tahiti, see which combos will get you the flavor you most desire!

Finally, the moment of truth… The ice cream tasting!

We got to try 6 of the exclusive Museum Of Ice Cream flavors, which you can find at participating Target locations as well as the NYC Pint Shop.

On the way out of the lab, we were given a special gem which we could then redeem for any pint flavor at the shop.

We opted for the Piñata, which was a favorite during the tasting!
