My Top 5 Super Bowl LIII Commercials

According to CNBC, it costs a record $5.25 million for a 30 second commercial during the Super Bowl on CBS this year. That’s about $175,000 per second! This is “slightly” higher than last year’s $5.2 million rate and as it continues to increase every year,  America continues to wait patiently to watch the best commercials of the year.

But first, congrats to the New England Patriots on their 6th Super Bowl win! Super Bowl LIII was definitely interesting but enough of that, let’s jump to my favorite ads!

And in case you missed it, here are my picks from LII and LI!

1. Avengers: Endgame TV Spot

Was anyone expecting this one? If you’re like me, you had to watch it over and over, pausing every other second to see if you can catch anything new! Yes, it was only 30 seconds but, man, it was so heavy! Can’t wait for April 26!

2. Amazon Alexa – Not Everything Makes The Cut

This commercial was hilarious! A lot of people make comments about their various Alexa devices and this commercial just takes it to a whole new level. Plus, a grumpy Harrison Ford was a surprise, to be sure… but a welcome one!

3. Pepsi – More Than OK

Pepsi’s 60 second ad takes the cake for best cameos! Steve Carell? Lil Jon? Cardi B? And Steve Carell imitating both of them? OK!!

4. NFL 100

Yes, this one’s a little longer (2 minutes!) but it’s worth the watch! Really entertaining & featuring a ton of stars! On a side note, wouldn’t you want to watch football being played in tuxedos? Somebody’s gotta make that happen! (That Brady joke at 1:12 though…)

5. Michael Bublé vs bubly

Some pronunciation / wordplay humor with Bublé & bubly. It’s a textbook example of the classic “wrong emphásis on the wrong sylláble”. Extra funny points just because it IS Michael Bublé!

It was pretty tough picking only 5 this year! I thought there were some more great ones out there but these were the commercials that hit home with me the most. Can’t wait for next year!
