My Top 5 Super Bowl LIV Commercials

What a Super Bowl! Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs who have made a 50 year comeback since their last win in Super Bowl IV. It was a great night against the San Francisco 49ers (31-20) at Hard Rock Stadium.

Let’s not forget the Pepsi Halftime show with J. Lo & Shakira which was packed with entertainment and, of course, so many memorable ads! As always, let me break down my 5 favorites from this year’s Super Bowl. It was pretty tough because I also enjoyed a few others like the ones from Snickers, Planters, and Doritos…

But in order of their appearance on air, here are my favorite commercials from Super Bowl LIV this year:

1. Rocket Mortgage with Jason Momoa

This ad just got nuttier and nuttier with each turn! There were a lot of commercials with wasted star power potential (I’m looking at you, Audi) but I think they 100% cast the right person for this Rocket Mortgage ad!

2. Hyundai Smaht Pahk

Ever since this commercial hit the internet days before the Super Bowl, I couldn’t stop laughing. Finally seeing it on TV was just so great. It’s easily one of the most memorable ads and so easy to tell other people about Smaht Pahk too!

3. Rick and Morty x Pringles

This is one of those ads where you’ll only really appreciate it if you’re familiar with the source material. If you’ve never gotten into Rick and Morty before, this commercial probably flew over your head but as a fan, it was absolutely hilarious! Now I gotta run out and [belch] buy some Pringles…

4. Best Thing Since Sliced Bread (Little Caesars)

This was one of those ads where the payoff was really satisfying and not just an odd way to wrap up a commercial. I’m not sure if it’s because Rainn Wilson was channeling his inner Dwight Schrute (from The Office) but I loved seeing his frustration, the ridiculous “new bread” ideas and the final punchline!

5. Jeep & Groundhog Day

It’s the sequel we didn’t know we needed. Yes, it’s 27 years after Bill Murray’s movie “Groundhog Day” but it’s also fitting because Superbowl Sunday in fact did land on Groundhog Day… in addition to the fact that this commercial was genius!

Not only that, a 30 second commercial during Super Bowl LIV was reported to cost $5.6 million! This is up from last year’s reported $5.2 million. Wow! Let’s see what our favorite brands will do with next year’s Super Bowl ads!
