The Contenders at Dolby SoHo NYC

It’s awards season! And the 2020 Oscars (92nd Academy Awards) are just around the corner. Last year brought us a lot of amazing movies and Dolby SoHo is recreating some of their iconic scenes with exclusive experiences using their Dolby technology.

From now until February 23, immerse yourself in this free pop-up featuring Oscar-nominated movies: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, 1917, Ford v Ferrari, The Irishman, Joker, and Missing Link. Many of these movies have all won awards already, so who’s ready to see what the Oscars have in store? (Be sure to check out the photos and video recap at the end of this article!)

Whether it’s a private screening of clips from Joker, Missing Link, and Star Wars… scenes out of Joker’s dressing room or mob hangout Villa di Roma from The Irishman… or even a replica race car from Ford V Ferrari, each experience is supplemented with the ultravivid picture of Dolby Vision™ and immersive sound of Dolby Atmos®!

Much like the Star Wars Exhibition last December, each area of the Dolby SoHo flagship store offers something unique. Starting with the social media-shareable Red Carpet photoshoot, you’ll pass through some Missing Link stop motion puppets on display, leading you to the Joker & 1917 viewing rooms, as well as an amazing display of props from The Irishman and Ford v Ferrari.

Downstairs you’ll be able to sit & enjoy a Dolby movie-going experience in the “Dolby Cinema”, as well as traveling to a galaxy far, far away with the Star Wars display (complete with life-size Sith Troopers)! Not to mention a beautiful art installation, giveaways, and opportunities to walk away with a Dolby gift card!

Stay tuned for the 92nd Academy Awards on ABC on February 9 at 8pm EST, as well as this special free Dolby pop-up open until February 23! Visit Dolby’s website for more details.
