Art In The Garden 2020 (Calgo Gardens)

The annual Art In The Garden show at Calgo Gardens is a one-day event showcasing nearly 50 artists & vendors specializing in jewelry, home decor, soaps, pottery, sewn products, and even food & snacks! All the tables were spaced apart throughout the Freehold, NJ garden’s grounds so that the show could be safe & enjoyable for both the vendors and attendees. And as all Calgo Gardens events follow COVID-19 guidelines, masks were required and hand sanitizing stations were provided.

This year’s show was held on September 26 and there was a lot of great art for sale by the vendors, each one offering something unique & different. Lazy B Cigar Box Guitars builds “cigar box guitars” which originated in the 19th century, and brought along a bunch of their cool instruments:

But I just had to get my hands on some of Tyler Lucas’ fine woodwork. His company Trees To Dreams (which has an amazing story online) creates incredible wooden kitchen items from cheese boards to coasters. Absolutely amazing craftsmanship when you see it in person:

And during the 6-hour event, Calgo Gardens featured live music throughout the day with Bob Kulik, Billy Simmons, and acoustic duo Sheri & Lee. It was a beautiful day to admire & collect art from local artisans and take a stroll through the garden. And when you’ve worked up an appetite, their Tulip Tree Cafe was offering snacks & meals to enjoy while you spent the day there!

All in all, Art In The Garden was a wonderful event and felt safe every step of the way. And on top of that, Calgo Gardens was giving back to the community too because even though admission was essentially free, the online reservation was “pay what you wish” or a suggested donation of $3 at the door that all goes towards the local Howell Food Pantry! If you’re interested in supporting local artisans and crafters, I’d recommend this event!
