This year’s official South Jersey Geek Fest was unfortunately canceled due to the spread of COVID-19 but in its place, the Geek Fest organizers hosted a smaller “Faire” on October 24 with a dozen fan-favorite vendors and artists. This one day event went from 10am-6pm in the parking lot of Nerd Mall at Polsky’s Corner, and united geeks of every kind: collectors, cosplayers, art enthusiasts… you name it!

At the Faire you could find amazing products from featured vendors like Geek Boy Press (t-shirts, pins, prints, stickers), 8bit Fusion (perler art & accessories), Ingenious Edge (handmade corner bookmarks & vintage collectibles), and so many other booths where you could find geeky goods:

Cheryl’s Quilts & Crafts was another popular booth filled with an incredible display of stitched art, blankets, masks, dice trays, and pop culture embroidered key chains:

You could find almost any fandom on her impressive wall! Plus some great mix & match deals, too!
Artist Christian Espiritusanto was also at the Faire with his creator-owned series Warriors Amongst Realms as well as his other published works (Horrendous magazine and The Official Walking Dead Magazine). On top of that, Christian was selling original art like commission work and comic book sketch covers. Here he is, putting some killer finishing touches on my Wolverine sketch:

But the fun wasn’t just in the lot! Cosplay group Sakura Nation was gathering & performing in the courtyard and food truck Potato Patoto was serving up their famous tots!
Meanwhile inside the Nerd Mall, host businesses Tiki Tiki Board Games, ABXY Video Games, On The Record, and Luke & Cade’s Toy Chest were all open and showing off their large assortment of geek gear – from board games to video games, from trading cards to playing dice. And everybody who attended the Faire needed to get their temperature checked (masks required as well, of course) to step into the Mall and parking lot.

It was exciting to finally step foot inside after seeing so many of the Nerd Mall businesses at last year’s South Jersey Geek Fest. And while we didn’t get to experience a full-scale event this time around, lots of fans expressed that they enjoyed this mini version of Geek Fest! Currently the next South Jersey Geek Fest is scheduled for April 3, 2021 so until then, be sure to support the local vendors as well as the Nerd Mall in Woodbury, NJ.
