The Devoshion store in Commack, NY hosted a one-day comic art event featuring Larry Stroman, Keith Williams, and nearly a dozen local artists. As one of the last in-person events of the year, fans & collectors were able to come in with their masks into the safe & small event from 11am-4pm on December 12 and purchase art in time for the holidays!
Tables were nicely spaced out along the perimeter of the area, allowing people to roam freely without crowds. All the while, you could find an amazing array of original art, prints, stickers, trading cards, and other mediums.
Some of the local artists in attendance were Bun Leung, Alex Rivera, Jon Gusman, and Peat Vazquez of Fat Guy Inc. (above) who had an impressive display of prints, sketch covers, and painted canvases in varying sizes. In fact, all across the room you could find characters from every fandom. Whether you’re looking for comic book heroes or anime mechas, it’s all there!
Many artists even had specials going on during the show where purchasing more means you save more! Arash Zandieh of Evolution Comics (above) had some great deals on his posters and has even more designs on his website that can be made into a variety of apparel & accessories.
I was able to pick up a couple prints at this event as well as some stickers which will make for some fun stocking stuffers. Plus, on top of all of these amazing artists, the Devoshion Comic Art Sale was also the debut of the art rep agency Legendary Illustrations featuring artists like Henry Martinez, Tony Kordos, and Maudo Zapata who were all tabling at the event.
