South Jersey Geek Fest Returns! (Spring 2022)

After a few of their smaller outdoor Geek Fest Faires during the pandemic, South Jersey Geek Fest is finally back! On April 16, 2022, the Gateway Regional High School in Woodbury Heights, NJ transformed into the headquarters for South Jersey Geek Fest’s big return!

With almost 100 booths of vendors, artists, gaming, and more, the 10am-5pm comeback show was full of deals, performances, medieval demonstrations, cosplayers, and even several food trucks to help fuel you up for all that the day holds!

Outside the show, attendees were enjoying the food in beautiful weather along with the demonstrations by the Society for Creative Anachronism and an appearance by the Thirteenth Child Jeep Club. Meanwhile, inside, on top of the exhibitors selling comic books, video games, action figures, Funko Pops, and trading cards, there were dozens of vendors specializing in uniquely handcrafted items: woodwork, etched glass, repurposed gaming controller decor… just to name a few!

Damion of dblakemakes (above) caught the eyes of a lot of collectors with his hand-painted custom nameplates, perfect for displaying alongside your action figures, statues, and other collectibles! Some fan favorite SJ Geek Fest vendors returned as well, like: 8-Bit Fusion, Geek Boy Press, and Ingenious Edge. Plus a dozen comic book creators, artists, and writers like Christian Espiritusanto, Al Simpson, Brandon Colyer, Matthew Kund, Phil Falco, Kat Calamia, and Jude Martys who was busy working on sketch commissions:

Many creators had published works, art prints, and pre-drawn sketches available for purchase. And South Jersey Geek Fest is always a great way to discover an up & coming creator, so be sure to swing by and get introduced to all of their amazing work!

You’ll also want to keep your eyes peeled for all the fantastic cosplay you’ll find all day long! As an added bonus, cosplayers do receive a $5 discount at the door (alternatively if you brought a non-perishable food item donation), otherwise standard admission is $15 and children 10 & under, accompanied by an adult, are free!

If you’ve never attended South Jersey Geek Fest, definitely check it out next time! And to get a better sense of what the event is like, here are some more photos from the show, as well as a video recap below.
