Ramen Azuma (Hackensack, NJ)

Ramen Azuma, a Bergen County staple of authentic Japanese cuisine, has expanded with a new restaurant! Opening on January 20, 2023, the newest location in Hackensack, NJ not only boasts their ever popular menu, but a beautiful interior with more seating than ever, as well as plenty of parking spots in their dedicated lot.

This opening comes after the success of both their flagship location in Englewood and last year’s expansion into Wood-Ridge. Owner Maou Suzuki and his team did a fantastic job transforming the space into a modern dining area with warm lighting, bar seating, cozy booths, and an open kitchen concept.

The menu here is similar to its predecessors (previously covered), complete with appetizers & sides (like gyoza, takoyaki, karaage, cha-shu buns), entrees like curry & various platters, and of course their spectacular ramen! And just like the other Ramen Azuma locations, the noodles are made in-house with a special noodle machine, just as their logo suggests.

Everything is authentic and everything is delicious. Specifically I ordered the tonkotsu ramen / salmon ikura bowl set and I must say: from start to finish, from the ambience to the stellar kitchen team, each Ramen Azuma opening is clearly a testament to their devotion to quality and excellence.

Needless to say, my experience at the Grand Opening was nothing short of amazing.

Ramen Azuma has found a good home in their new neighborhood of Hackensack, and it’s certainly something that the area’s needed! And with so many excellent menu options, there’s something for every kind of eater. If you’ve never visited a Ramen Azuma location before, now’s your chance to try the latest & greatest… Check them out at 108 S State St., Hackensack, NJ 07601.
