On April 26, 2018, Boozy Burbs (a New Jersey food news site) hosted a one night affair filled with over 20 local food artisans serving up one of a kind dishes exclusively to Boozy Burbs Food Hall.
From 5pm to 10pm at The Terrace in Paramus, NJ, this was the only place to try “off-the-menu” items such as Callahan’s Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Soft Shell Crab Sandwich or Hold My Knots’ Fried Calamari Garlic Knot Slider!
I loved how both were photogenic and served hot! The Flamin’ Hot Cheetos breading was to die for and the fried calamari was an amazing pairing with HMK’s garlic knot!
I spent a solid two hours trying different food & drink items from vendors such as Empanada Mania, 17 Summer, and Red White & Que. In fact, Aumm Aumm was serving up pizza straight from their portable brick oven outside and it was delicious!
Some had their signature dishes available on top of limited time items we might never see again! Kimchi Smoke had the “Joy Z Cubano” – smoked pork shoulder, Taylor ham, Swiss cheese, spicy pickled veggies, Remy and scallions… And Russo’s House of Pizza had the Pizzaquito, the younger cousin of their Pizzaritto – stuffed with penne, meatballs, mozzarella stick, and cheese & sauce for days!
Thankfully, Bar Louie was around to help wash everything down with something refreshing.
But it’s not over yet!
Another booth that caught my eye and my mouth was Biddy O’Malley’s Tuna Tartare Tacos:
For just $5 for 2 tacos, it was the perfect “bite-size” treat and for a great deal too! The crisp of the shell was perfect and the toppings were right on!
And it was great to see other local favorites present too. Dill Fresh Mediterranean Grill… Westwood Prime Meats… But I have to mention how City Perch had a delicious suckling pig out with BBQ pulled pork sliders:
And moving onto dessert, let’s talk about everybody’s favorite cupcake store, Mr. Cupcakes, who was selling Unicorn Cupcakes and a very unique Cupcake Slider, made up of cupcake buns, buttercream lettuce & tomato, fondant cheese, and chocolate cake dipped in ganache for the patty:
Plus other great dessert options included Glaze Donuts, Kurly Kürtősh, Sweet & Flour, Erie Bakery, or some Skandanavian candy from Candy Rush:
Needless to say, I’m absolutely stuffed!
But I was glad to see a few photo opportunities scattered around the hall – backdrops, photo booths, even a live DJ spinning some great tunes all night long!
