Garden State Comic Fest may be just a month away from its Morristown edition but on May 25 & 26, something special was happening at New Jersey’s Six Flags Great Adventure. Amidst all of their DC Superheroes rides like Batman, Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, Cyborg: Cyber Spin, and the upcoming Wonder Woman: Lasso Of Truth, Six Flags was hosting the Great Adventure edition of Garden State Comic Fest!
Much like their main event, Garden State Comic Fest brought in dozens of artists & vendors and showcased them right in front of the Hall Of Justice in Movietown. This year they invited special guests John Wesley Shipp (The Flash), Charlie Schlatter (the voice of LEGO Flash), and Sid O’Connell (Gotham), who were all available for autographing and photo ops throughout the weekend – as well as 8 iconic Bat vehicles for the 80th anniversary of Batman: the 1966 Batmobile, Batcycle & Batboat, the 1989 Batmobile, the 1995 Batmobile, the Dark Knight Trilogy Tumbler & Batpod, and the Batmobile from Batman v Superman.
The weather was fantastic and under the large tents, you could browse through some amazing art from talents such as Scott Hanna or Reilly Brown, and find some collectibles like Funko Pops, Marvel Legends action figures, or comic books! Fans were also able to commission artists for original pieces to take home that very day!
All the while, the amusement park was bustling with crowds for Memorial Day weekend, and park visitors were in for a treat as they crossed the “Metro-Narrows Bridge” into the convention area. And admission was as easy as having a ticket to Six Flags, with no additional fees to attend GSCF! This includes daily passes, Season Passes, and Membership.
And with so much of Six Flags being comic book hero-focused already, having GSCF on park grounds felt so natural! Wear your favorite superhero t-shirt or pick up a Six Flags exclusive shirt from any of their gift shops and you’ll fit right in! We even got to swing by the Justice League: Battle for Metropolis ride and I beat my previous record of 130,832 with a whopping 156,236 (Top 1%)!
