Thy Geekdom Con is an all-geekdom convention focusing on multiple genres and interests. It’s held annually at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, featuring celebrity guests, panels, cosplay, gaming, and so much more! Let’s take a look at what goes on inside and be sure to scroll down for a video preview at the end of this article too!

Thy Geekdom Con’s 6th gathering was from May 24-26, 2019 and featured celebrity guests Cherami Leigh, Kira Buckland, and Kyle McCarley, who were available for photo ops and autographing most of the weekend. We were able to see a lot of fans get some cool items get signed throughout the con!

And if meeting celebrities isn’t exactly what you’re into, you’re in luck because just like other pop culture conventions, Thy Geekdom Con provided panels and activities to fill up the daily schedule. There were video game tournaments, consoles set up, and even classic arcade cabinets:

There was also a heavy presence of cosplay at this con, and a cosplay contest too! While you may already be used to seeing cosplayers roam the show floor, here you’ll also find professional cosplayers tabling and displaying some of their cherished costumes and props:

Here are Iron Fett and Steampunked Batman’s booths too:

Plus, plenty of vendors to check out for all your cosplay needs like replicas, swords, or even last minute cosplay repairs!

Not to mention all the other amazing vendors & artists set up specializing in all things “geek”!

Check out these really cool lanterns by Storybook Craft Co. who has over 40 handmade lanterns covering tons of fandoms from Harry Potter to Game of Thrones to Disney!

As well as fan favorite vendor Jackie’s Copper Creations with her very unique copper artwork featuring logos & phrases from geek culture.

Jackie’s copper art can be made flat to fit inside frames or custom designed to become plaques, wall art, hangers, and so much more! Be sure to inquire about custom needs as well:

And who can say no to some retro goodness?

Sportinmortin’s collection of vintage & modern Transformers, Voltron, and other retro favorites was certainly an eye-catcher at Thy Geekdom Con! Many fans were gathered to see what kind of deals they could get on some of their most memorable childhood collectibles:

But some of the most fun I had was in the Artist Alley. Not only limited to comic book art, there were many artists who were showcasing their one-of-a-kind creations. Whether it was whipping up a sketch on the spot for you, or painting a sculpted statue before your very eyes, you could find all sorts of art for your everyday geek.

JackSquatJB was hand painting his sculpture of Detective Pikachu that he was giving away at the con. He had a lot of great pieces on display & for sale like “roast Porg” from Star Wars or Pickle Rick from Rick & Morty, and even Bob-ombs from Mario!

And artists Christian Espiritusanto & Studio MA-EN’s Enrique Lopez & Marimar Lopez were working on commissions where fans could request custom artwork to be completed at the show itself!
