Central-Con held its first annual convention at Central Regional High School in Bayville, NJ on August 3, 2019. Featuring wall-to-wall vendors specializing in comic books & toys, and artists in the comic book industry, fans were able to have a “comic con experience” without stepping into large crowds or paying for a premium ticket.
For the $10 admission, attendees were able to participate in the door prizes (where you could win prizes like a Marvel Legends action figure) and meet special guests like artist Will Torres (above), Simpsons writer Tony DiGerolamo, and Corey Sosner who runs a character-based production company:
And, of course, attendees were also able to shop around all the vendors who carried items like $1 comics, CGC slabbed books, and Funko Pops:
The Comic Curators was one of the vendors who had many rare collectibles for sale. I was able to secure a hard-to-find Mysterio figure from the latest Spider-Man: Far From Home film!
Meanwhile, other vendors had great deals on single issue comic books, bundles, and even art prints!
Show creators Al Trematerra & John Ciccone wanted to make their one-day con family friendly and fun for all ages – even offering free admission & comics to kids ages 12 and under! And it seems like they already have plans underway to make the 2nd Central-Con bigger & better with a cosplay contest, expanded space, and more amazing artists!
Be sure to stay tuned on their website for updates on the next Central-Con!
