The Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market is a punk-inspired flea market with unique collectibles, antiques, original artwork, handmade items, and other interesting curiosities. It’s held multiple times a year and for its post-quarantine comeback show, it took over the Cure Insurance Arena parking lot in downtown Trenton, NJ!
Over 60 vendors assembled each day for the socially distanced event on August 1 & 2, specializing in everything from apparel, art, jewelry, woodwork, 3D printing, and even boutique guitar pedals! And with masks required at all times & social distancing enforced, everyone was able to have peace of mind while having a good time:
Right off the bat, Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market had hand sanitizer available as soon as you are admitted and hand washing stations could be seen within walking distance. The event adhered to the state’s outdoor capacity limit and everything was properly spaced out. Plus, most vendors had tents so that attendees didn’t have to deal with the scorching heat the whole time, and thankfully the weather was beautiful! But let’s check out some of the amazing products you can find at TPRFM (and be sure to stick around for a video walkthrough at the end as well as the full photo gallery):
Madame Seamus had some beautiful handmade book purses, cigar boxes, and steampunk jewelry. Whether it’s something more classic like an Edgar Allen Poe cover or maybe something a little geekier like a Star Wars book, she’s got it all… and custom orders are always welcome!
Art was also very popular at the Flea Market with such a wide variety of styles and mediums. Above is Jackson O Paintings who had his painted canvases, 8.5″x11″ prints, and custom skateboards (which sold out right away)! But art comes in all shapes and sizes and you’ll see plenty of it at TPRFM whether it’s breathtaking origami art by Oba-Gami or adorable plushies by TheJaeBird:
The Flea Market ran for 7 hours each day and while there’s plenty to see, you’ve gotta refuel too! TPRFM had a great assortment of food trucks onsite like Buzzetta’s, Paper Mill Foods, House Of Cupcakes, Little Sicilian Riceballs, and Savory Leaf Cafe.
Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market isn’t your grandma’s flea market! And the best way I can describe it is that it’s a cross between a pop culture crafts festival and a comic con show floor! With tons of pop culture merch and equally as much handmade crafts & food, and at an admission fee of just $5, you’re bound to find something you’ll love to take home… I know I did!
