Trading Card Game Con (New Jersey 2022)

Trading Card Game Con is a regional convention that focuses on all things Trading Card Games (TCG) including, but not limited to, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, Digimon, Vanguard, and Dragon Ball! Having already held events in Louisville, KY and Denver, CO, next was New Jersey on July 23 & 24 at the NJ Convention & Exposition Center with two days of TCG tournaments, voice actor meet & greets, card grading, and a show floor of over 50 vendors specializing in cards & collectibles.

With one of the best selections of vendors around, TCG-Con featured dozens of booths carrying raw & ungraded cards, foreign & promotional products, sealed boxes & cases… you name it! While some vendors were recruited from the local scene in New Jersey, others traveled hundreds of miles to come sell their wares. From bulk commons to discount rares, you never know what you’ll find browsing the aisles & aisles of tables loaded with cards.

Plus tons of already graded cards to give you peace of mind with authenticated condition: PSA, CGC, and Beckett slabs as far as the eye can see, and grading companies AGS and HGA were even on-site accepting submissions at a discounted rate so that you could send in your cards with ease… not to mention the plethora of deals in general all weekend long! And although doors opened at 10am, the Weekend VIP Package ensured that you get to enter an hour earlier (plus some extra TCG-Con swag) to find all the best items under one roof – and we’re not just talking about high value items but especially ones that are useful for competitive play:

TCG-Con NJ had tournaments running both days for all the top card games: Magic The Gathering, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragon Ball Super, Digimon, and even Cardfight Vanguard! Built into the Show Floor, it was amazing to see passionate players put their cards to use and engage with fellow enthusiasts, which is really the heart of this convention.

Whether you’re looking to go head-to-head with your newest deck, filling in the blanks on some missing cards in your collection, or you’re simply a fan of the TCG animes, this con is definitely for you! And there were definitely a few voice actors you’ll want to meet: Wayne Grayson (Joey Wheeler from Yu-Gi-Oh!), Joshua Seth (Tai from Digimon), Stephanie Nadolny (Son Goku from Dragon Ball), and Erica Schroeder (Mai Valentine from Yu-Gi-Oh! & Nurse Joy from Pokemon) were all ready to meet fans for autographs & photographs. So be sure to bring your favorite collectibles to get signed, or just swing by to say hi to the many voices from your childhood!

And that’s not all! While Trading Card Game Con is all about TCG’s, you’ll find more than just cards & supplies. There were plush toys, punny shirts by Glitch Apparel, custom 3D printed Pokemon statues, video games, and Yugimon Card Art (above) who brought along their incredible layered 3D card art. It really was a con made for TCG fans! And with the next TCG-Con hitting up Tampa, FL on August 27 & 28, you won’t want to miss it. Keep your eyes peeled for all official TCG-Con announcements on their website and Facebook to see if it’s coming soon to a city near you!
