Connecticut’s #1 comic con, TERRIFICON, returned July 29-31 for another action-packed weekend at Mohegan Sun filled with comic book creators, celebrity meet & greets, wall-to-wall vendors, and an absolutely terrific time with fellow fans! Let’s take a look at what went on, and be sure to stick around for the video recap and full photo gallery, too!

Terrificon annually delivers a stellar guest list and this year was no different. 2022 featured media guests like The Orville’s Adrianne Palicki, Joe Pantoliano, and Dan Fogler, as well as voiceover legends Jim Cummings, Keone Young, Johnny Yong Bosch, and the “Justice League”: Kevin Conroy, Phil LaMarr, Susan Eisenberg, and the convention debut of Tim Daly! But at a comic-focused convention like Terrificon, the comic book creators are also the celebrities, with appearances by John Romita Jr., Dan Jurgens, Gerry Conway, Garth Ennis, Esad Ribic, Mark Bagley, and over a hundred others!

It’s the perfect opportunity to pick up original art, get comics signed, or simply meet some of your favorite artists & writers (perhaps you were bold enough to get the Terrificon exclusive Spider-Man 60th Anniversary poster signed by all the contributing creators). From mainstream to indie, Terrificon covers the whole spectrum of creators and offers an Artist Alley like no other convention in the area! Bring a comic or two to get signed, and you can even get it witnessed & graded by CBCS or CGC facilitators like Captured Collectibles, Carnivore Comics, and Agents of Slabs! And if you don’t have the exact comic book you need, check out over a dozen comic book vendors who’ll probably have just what you’re looking for:

We’re talking about key issues, dollar books, complete sets, and even already graded grails! Plus, lots of exclusive books you can pick up only at the convention like the Jerry Ordway variant of The Boys #1 (limited to 500). Or maybe you’re chasing after some hard-to-find collectibles like action figures, Legos, lightsabers, or Funko Pops…

Whether you’re looking for Pokemon cards, enamel pins, or even geeky apparel, Terrificon’s got you covered! And with plenty of programming throughout the weekend, you can take a break to sit down and enjoy a panel from your favorite special guests. Some of this year’s happenings included free video gameplay, lightsaber training, a Justice League Animated Series panel, a private meet & greet experience with John Romita Jr., and a cosplay contest featuring some of the best costumes you’ll see!

Fans love to attend cons dressed up as the latest & trendiest characters in comics & pop culture! This year’s popular cosplays were definitely recent Marvel character appearances like Moon Knight & Doctor Strange, and Stranger Things Season 4 characters Chrissy & Eddie (above). But whether you’re dressed in cosplay or not, you’ll always be surrounded by other passionate fans and good times all around!

If you’ve never attended Terrificon before, fear not! The dates for next year are already set for July 28-30, 2023 and it’s guaranteed to be a terrific time for you and the whole family. Keep your eyes peeled for future announcements from the convention and, in the meantime, check out our full photo gallery online as well as a quick video recap:
