Baltimore Comic Con 2022

Baltimore Comic Con 2022 pulled out all the stops for its 23rd year with amazing special guests, artists, exhibitors, programming, and so much more! Here are some highlights from the October 28-30 weekend at the con, and be sure to stick around for our video recap and full photo gallery!

The Baltimore Convention Center was once again home to comic book enthusiasts, pop culture fans, cosplayers, and lovers of all things geeky! With a massive Exhibit Hall & Artist Alley on the lower level and conference rooms for panels on the upper level, Baltimore Comic Con had no shortage of things to do. From shopping & browsing to meeting celebrities & comic book creators, you’re bound to have a jam-packed weekend here!

Some of the special guests in attendance this year included comic book legends Jim Lee (above) & Frank Miller, as well as media guests John Leguizamo, Veronica Taylor, and Disney Princess voice actresses. While most of the time you can meet guests in the main area for paid autographs & photo ops, occasionally an additional ticket may be required for VIP Experiences like private signings or meet & greets.

Meanwhile, hundreds of booths await you downstairs in the Exhibit Hall! With one of the most expansive selections of items for sale, you’re definitely going to find something that’s in your wheelhouse. Whether it’s original art (above), comic books, Funko Pops, video games, action figures & statues, or even Pokemon cards… Baltimore Comic Con’s got it all! There were even exhibitors who offer services to grade and/or protect your valuable collectibles, including the return of CGC with all of its departments to cover comics, cards, and currency:

Companies like CGC & CBCS not only help to secure your collectibles but can also provide authentication and verification of signed memorabilia, which is an incredibly useful service at a comic book convention. Accompanied by one of their witnesses, your signed comics will have proof that they are indeed genuine. That means you could collect signatures (and sketches) from artists like Walt Simonson (below), Frank Cho, Klaus Janson, Lee Weeks, Chris Campana… and anyone & everyone in Baltimore Comic Con’s huge Artist Alley!

The Programming this year was also stellar. All weekend, panels were hosting a variety of moderated interviews, Q&A’s, informational sessions, and in memoriam tributes to Tim Sale & Neal Adams. Not to mention an all-star cosplay showcase on Saturday where you’ll see some of the best costuming around!

Because this year’s Baltimore Comic Con took place over Halloween weekend, it was so great to see some exhibitors accommodating the young con-goers with candy, freebies, and activities! And as always, the dedicated “Kids Love Comics!” held panels specifically for kids & families.

There’s a reason why Baltimore Comic Con is 23 years strong! And if you’ve never attended one before, we can’t recommend it enough because it’s certainly the place to be for anyone who has a passion for comics & art, meeting your heroes, and even discovering a new indie book or two. It’s for creators big & small, fans new & old, and everyone in between! So definitely keep your eyes peeled for their next con and in the meantime, check out our video recap below as well as our full photo gallery!
