Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017

“Star Wars Celebration – The Ultimate Fan Experience” is a giant convention specifically for Star Wars starting in 1999 just before the release of Episode I: The Phantom Menace. I realized the huge traction it was gaining with Celebration III in 2005 with the release of their exclusive Darth Vader figure. I still remember payingContinue reading “Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017”

The Great Philadelphia Comic Con (April 7-9, 2017)

Last year I traveled to cons all over the place: northern NJ, central NJ, NYC, Long Island, Queens, Westchester, Richmond VA, and even Providence RI. For the second con of the year, we drove down a couple hours to The Great Philadelphia Comic Con. I had been monitoring this show for a while because IContinue reading “The Great Philadelphia Comic Con (April 7-9, 2017)”

WinterCon 2016 (Resorts World Casino, Jamaica, NY)

Brace yourselves… WinterCon. Alas, my last convention of the year but this one did not disappoint! Exhibitors, artists, panels, and celebrity appearances. And this con almost felt like a mini Star Wars convention: Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca from Episodes III-VIII), Mike Quinn (Nien Nunb from Episodes VI-VIII, and some Ree-Yees/Yoda/Jabba), Garrick Hagon (Biggs Darklighter from EpisodeContinue reading “WinterCon 2016 (Resorts World Casino, Jamaica, NY)”

RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns (Secaucus, NJ)

Trick or Treat! It was my first time attending Rise of the Jack O’Lanterns and it was quite the spectacle. At this show, 5,000 carved pumpkins illuminate all across the Meadowlands Expo Center show floor, a process of gutting, painting, and etching/carving that takes 10-15 hours per pumpkin! And that’s not all – “The Rise”Continue reading “RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns (Secaucus, NJ)”
